Addiction: Drugs & Alcohol

As most of us are aware, addiction/misuse of drugs and alcohol, has reached epidemic proportions in the United States. Most current treatments are dismal failures.  Even for treatments touted as “evidence-based” they relapse rate at 6 months is 70-80%.

Ketamine treatment offers New Hope

Published data on treatment of alcohol abuse and heroin abuse show that a brief course of treatment, as little as 3 sessions over a two-month period., typically results in  a 50% sustained remission state at one year.

This is far superior to the published data on other treatments currently being used. This is good, but your sustained recovery is important to us so we go the extra mile.

We use this  window of opportunity to  support long-term remission of the addiction/substance misuse.  These integrated practices may include some or all of the following: Botanical support, acupuncture; breath work, meditation; massage; creative art practices; as well as introducing great new foods into your diet.  We also give you the building blocks to form a healthy community. These community settings are important to minimize the unhealthy effects of isolation.

It is important to remember that Chinese civilizations suffered through an opiate epidemic, very similar to our own, over 150 years ago this.  During the opium wars millions of Chinese’s became addicted to opiates.  Chinese medical doctors became adept at using herbal medicine to treat addiction.

Those same herbal treatments are available today in our clinic.

It should be noted, that people suffering with addiction/substance misuse disorder, may also be suffering from depression, PTSD.  In fact, people suffering with depression and PTSD often turned to drugs and/or alcohol as a way to self-medicate.  Therefore, people suffering with both substance abuse diseases and depression/PTSD, may receive twofold benefit from treatment with ketamine.
